Show Me Reader Club
Missouri gives a Show Me Reader Award each year on a book voted
most liked by Missouri children in first to third grade. A group of
books are nominated for the award by a committee working for the Missouri Association of School Librarians. A list of nominated books, for this year, are listed on the Missouri Association for School Libraries (MASL) web site and posted in the school library.
Everyone interested in being in this club and having a vote in the Spring will need to read the books on the list. This is a lengthy list but the books are not very long. After students read the book, they should talk to the librarian about it. Then she will add their name and the book title to a list. Only the student that read the appropriate books will be allowed to vote in the Spring.
When the time comes, we will submit our school's vote and wait for the results to be posted.
We only have a couple copies of each title. If the book your child wants to read is checked out, you can check with the Dunklin County Library or I will put their name on a waiting list for the book.
